- Knox County Republican Women are hosting a noon lunch on August 19, 2010 at the Alcove Restaurant on Saftey Awareness. Lieutenant Gary Rohler will be speaking on security issues in Knox County. Lt. Rohler has worked at the Knox County Sheriff's Office for 14 years; beginning in the jail and patrol divisions. In 2003, Lt. Rohler became a detective and three years later, was promoted to detective sergeant. In April, 2010, he was promoted to lieutenant and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the detective division. Before joining the Knox County Sheriff's Office, he was the bailiff for the Mount Vernon Municipal Court and a police officer for the Village of Fredericktown. Lt. Rohler graduated from Mount Vernon High School and earned an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Central Ohio Technical College. He completed the Ohio Peace Officer training at the Delaware County Joint Vocational School. Lt. Rohler also has advanced training in homicide investigations, drug enforcement, evidence and crime scene processing, and tactical response. We will be meeting at the Alcove at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17. Please RSVP to 392-8346. Men and women are both welcome at all events. The public is welcome to attend. Lunch is $9.00.
